Boat Building and Restoration--Consignment Shop

Small Open Boats, LLC is located in Port Republic, Maryland.

We build, repair and restore small boats, including canoes, kayaks, sailboats, powerboats, and runabouts. The SOBs, as we call it, is operated by Ken Spring and shares workshop space with the Hands-On Company run by Rob Dale.

We have an extensive library of plans or can order them from any approved builder. We limit the size of boats constructed in our facility to twenty feet overall. 

We repair and restore boats and fabricate components for customers working off-site. We can supply materials such as hardwood, plywood, etc. as well as mill stock to your specifications.

The SOBs includes a small consignment shop where a constantly changing variety of marine items are offered for sale at very reasonable prices.
